QEG 2018 Summit

This years Queen Esther’s Generation (QEG) Summit was a huge success much as we had anticipated and planned for it.Everything went as planned and we give God all the Glory and Honor.QEG is an interdenominational monthly gathering of women and nowadays men which occurs on the first Saturday of every month. The gathering of Queens and Stars Summit which started on 5th– 8th July was themed ”GIVE US OUR INHERITANCE.”

I normally look forward to this conference not only for the WORD but also for the fun that comes with it.At the back of my mind I usually know that I will laugh so hard, and this time the guest speaker Rev.Funke Felix-Adejumo did not fail us.She has a ministry in relationships, marriage and sex.Even after the summit,I found myself looking for her videos on you tube.

This year’s dress code for the main day was Olive Green and Gold or Purple and Gold.I settled for purple and gold since I already had a purple top,I was going to look for a golden skirt and headband.Almost one month to the summit,an idea cropped up in my mind to make the skirt on my own.For the first time ever,I went and bought the cloth and made it myself, using my hands. As I was heading to the summit on 7th July I managed to take a few selfies. It was a cold chilly Saturday morning but I couldn’t stay at home.

I arrived when  the ladies had just been divided into the married and single groups.I joined the singles and was blessed by Professor Oketch’s session.I was amazed that she was single. So we still have wonderful women in the singles club.I have known her over the years as an outspoken lady. What I took home with me from her is how to package myself while looking for a job.

After this session there was a short break which I used to check updates on my phone, after which I would switch off my phone till evening after the day’s events.I requested my neighbor to kindly wait a bit in the evening so that we could take some photos.

Almost every year there is a book that is launched during the summit. The last book I got from such a summit is this one in 2016,

This year we had  Sister Charity Mavisi  and  Pastor Jane Carace  launching the new book which I think is a must read.

The book; 10 Irrefutable Strategies for Conquest and Take over of Territories by Pst.Dr.Esther Prince Obasi Ike.36733915_1909434722442226_2060600063079481344_o.jpg

When you hear other peoples testimonies, your faith is raised high and you hope that the God who did it for them will do it for you too.

These ladies had encouraging testimonies which they shared with us.36737294_1909436932442005_411810573966114816_o.jpg

We were priviledged to have our very own Nairobi Women Representative,Hon.Esther Passaris at the Summit!

Daddy Pst.Prince Obasi Ike prayed for Mommy and us before ending the meeting.

By the time we were declaring Psalm 23:6 over our lives,it was dark and we were in a hurry to go home,we didn’t take the photos.

We were invited to attend the final day of the summit which was also a thanksgiving service.

Sunday morning I took another selfie as I headed towards the summit.IMG_20180708_095308

I chose a strategic place to sit but due to unavoidable circumstances I had to change my seat, just after the praise and worship session.Fortunately, I found myself between two nursing mothers, and you can guess what I prophesied over myself.

It came to be that my neighbor,Ms.Wanja, who sat next to me the previous day,on 7th July had influenced Mommy to write the new book through a facebook comment.

Ms.Wanja receiving the book from Pastor Esther.

A surprise gift waits for ladies who attend the thanksgiving service, and its from the men of the Church who normally appreciate women with this lovely notebook.

Its usually a sweet surprise. Here is the notebook I got in 2017.IMG_20180719_121308.jpg

Sunday,8th July was a day of praising and worshipping God,more of the service was given to dancing, praying and praising. It was so much fun and what we can call a joyous celebration.I tell you, in His presence we experienced a lot of joy.

Psalm 16:11

11 Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.

The Day of Trouble

This week I was thinking within me and thanking God for a special gift.As I was reflecting,it occurred to me that even with a new gift, problems are bound to show up.Some sadness swept over me,but the hard truth is that as long as we are alive.we will face problems. It doesn’t matter whether we are rich or poor, healthy or sick, young or old, educated or not, single or married,we will encounter problems.

We tackle today’s problems, tomorrow we find new ones.Sometime ago I was watching one of Dr.Myles Munroe’s teachings on relationships;and while he celebrated marriage,he related each step of walking down the aisle on the wedding day to represent a trouble that the couple would face and would need to overcome.

It is recorded in the good book that we will have trouble.
”Man that is born of a woman is of few days and full of trouble.”
Job 14:1
”These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.”
John 16:33

In Psalm 20,the Bible records how the Lord will save those who trust in him and call on him on the day of trouble.

Psalm 20

1.The Lord hear thee in the day of trouble; the name of the God of Jacob defend thee;

Send thee help from the sanctuary, and strengthen thee out of Zion;

Remember all thy offerings, and accept thy burnt sacrifice;

Grant thee according to thine own heart, and fulfill all thy counsel.

We will rejoice in thy salvation, and in the name of our God we will set up our banners: the Lord fulfill all thy petitions.

Now know I that the Lord saveth his anointed; he will hear him from his holy heaven with the saving strength of his right hand.

Some trust in chariots, and some in horses: but we will remember the name of the Lord our God.

They are brought down and fallen: but we are risen, and stand upright.

Save, Lord: let the king hear us when we call.

Courtney Joseph talks about Trusting God in Difficult Times.

While studying Psalms 16-20 with the the good morning girls  this week,I came across some encouraging verses I would like to share with you.

Psalm 16

I have set the Lord always before me: because he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved.

Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoiceth: my flesh also shall rest in hope.

Psalm 17

Keep me as the apple of the eye, hide me under the shadow of thy wings,

Psalm 18

The Lord is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower.

In my distress I called upon the Lord, and cried unto my God: he heard my voice out of his temple, and my cry came before him, even into his ears.

16 He sent from above, he took me, he drew me out of many waters.

17 He delivered me from my strong enemy, and from them which hated me: for they were too strong for me.

32 It is God that girdeth me with strength, and maketh my way perfect.

33 He maketh my feet like hinds’ feet, and setteth me upon my high places.

34 He teacheth my hands to war, so that a bow of steel is broken by mine arms.

Psalm 19

The law of the Lord is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple.

The statutes of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart: the commandment of the Lord is pure, enlightening the eyes.

The fear of the Lord is clean, enduring for ever: the judgments of the Lord are true and righteous altogether.

10 More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold: sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb.

11 Moreover by them is thy servant warned: and in keeping of them there is great reward.

Getting Blessed

There are several ways to get blessed, for example by parents, from God,and through pastors .

Another way someone can get blessings is when they delight themselves in the word of God and meditate in his word day and night.

Psalm 1:1a,2

‘‘Blessed is the man whose delight is in the law of the Lord and in his law he meditates day and night.’’

To delight is to please(someone)greatly,or to find great pleasure.

To meditate is to focus one’s mind .

When we love the word of God, we will find pleasure in it.Loving the word means we create time to study the word, know it,share it,think about it,recite and memorize it.

When you do this, life will be good.

The following blessings from Psalm 1:3 will follow you:

  • You will look like a tree planted by streams of water which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither. You will be evergreen. You will always be nourished. You will always be fruitful. You will be a blessing to others.
  • Whatever you do will prosper.

Can you imagine?

Your life will be successful. You will succeed in everything you do.By prosper I think it means to succeed exceedingly. There will be no failures or shame in your life.

Oh this is so amazing,so sweet, who doesn’t want this. The Lord is so simple,he doesn’t want a bribe,he just wants us to love him by loving his word.

May the Lord help us to find great delight in his laws and to meditate on his laws day and night!
